    Il corso si struttura sulla storia letteraria del Novecento francese.
    Punto di riferimento è il volume "Storia europea della letteratura francese: Volume secondo. Dal Settecento all'età contemporanea", di cui si dovrà studiare la Parte III "Il Novecento", curata da Paolo Tamassia.
    Un approfondimento specifico sarà dedicato, nel corso delle lezioni, ai seguenti temi: la crisi del romanzo, il romanzo di guerra, il romanzo fiume, il Nouveau Roman.

    Obiettivi formativi

    Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione (knowledge and understanding). Lo studente dovrà dimostrare una conoscenza almeno sufficiente degli argomenti indicati nel programma. Dovrà, in seguito ai Seminari organizzati durante il corso, elaborare delle tesine sui temi trattati e dovrà sostenere una esposizione sugli stessi.

    Utilizzazione delle conoscenze e capacità di comprensione (applied knowledge and understanding). Lo studente acquisisce una conoscenza relativa ai principali temi della letteratura francese del Novecento. È chiamato ad approfondire i temi trattati durante il corso, attraverso relazioni apposite su singoli argomenti. Lo studio programmato fornirà allo studente gli strumenti critici di base per leggere la letteratura francese del Novecento.

    Capacità di trarre conclusioni (making judgements). Lo studente dovrà dimostrare capacità interpretativa sugli argomenti trattati durante il corso.

    Abilità comunicative (communication skills). Lo studente dovrà dimostrare di saper comunicare in modo chiaro le proprie conoscenze, di saper esprimere le proprie considerazioni nell’ambito del dibattito sui temi (working class) trattati nel corso delle lezioni frontali o nei seminari di approfondimento tematici. Lo studente deve esporre le nozioni acquisite con coerenza argomentativa, rigore logico-sistematico e proprietà di linguaggio.

    Capacità di apprendere (learning skills). Lo studente deve dimostrare la capacità di leggere la storia della letteratura francese del Novecento al fine di proseguire gli studi in modo autonomo e consapevole, anche mediante un aggiornamento costante delle proprie competenze.

    Metodologie didattiche

    L’attività didattica si svolge mediante lezioni frontali. Sono previsti incontri seminariali.
    La frequenza costante e partecipativa delle lezioni, pur non obbligatoria, è consigliata.

    Metodi di valutazione

    L'esame prevede una prova orale.
    Nella formulazione del giudizio finale troveranno applicazione i seguenti criteri di valutazione:
    • Mancato superamento dell’esame: il candidato non raggiunge alcun obiettivo formativo;
    • Da 18 a 21: Livello sufficiente. Il candidato raggiunge, in particolare, i risultati previsti al punto “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione”;
    • Da 22 a 24: Livello pienamente sufficiente. Il candidato raggiunge, in particolare, i risultati di apprendimento previsti ai punti “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione” e “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione applicate”;
    • Da 25 a 26: Livello buono. Il candidato raggiunge i risultati di apprendimento previsti ai punti “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione”, “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione applicate” e “autonomia di giudizio”;
    • Da 27 a 29: Livello molto buono. Il candidato raggiunge i risultati di apprendimento previsti ai punti “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione”, “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione applicate”, “autonomia di giudizio”, e “abilità comunicative”;
    • Da 30 a 30 e lode: Livello eccellente. Il candidato raggiunge pienamente i risultati di apprendimento previsti ai punti “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione”, “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione applicate”, “autonomia di giudizio”, “abilità comunicative” e “capacità di apprendere”.

    The course is structured on the literary history of the French twentieth century.
    The reference point is the volume "European History of French Literature: Second Volume. From the Eighteenth Century to the Contemporary Age", of which Part III "The Twentieth Century", edited by Paolo Tamassia, will have to be studied.
    A specific study will be dedicated, during the lessons, to the following themes: the crisis of the novel, the war novel, the river novel, the Nouveau Roman.

    Course objectives

    Knowledge and understanding. The student must demonstrate at least sufficient knowledge of the topics indicated in the program. Following the seminars organized during the course, he / she will have to elaborate papers on the topics covered and will have to sustain an exposition on the same.

    Use of knowledge and understanding (applied knowledge and understanding). The student acquires knowledge relating to the main themes of twentieth century French literature. He is called to deepen the topics covered during the course, through specific reports on individual topics. The planned study will provide the student with the basic critical tools for reading twentieth-century French literature.

    Ability to draw conclusions (making judgments). The student will have to demonstrate interpretative skills on the topics covered during the course.

    Communication skills. The student will have to demonstrate that they are able to communicate their knowledge clearly, to be able to express their considerations in the context of the debate on the topics (working class) dealt with in the lectures or in the thematic in-depth seminars. The student must expose the notions acquired with argumentative coherence, logical-systematic rigor and properties of language.

    Ability to learn (learning skills). The student must demonstrate the ability to read the history of French literature of the twentieth century in order to continue their studies in an autonomous and conscious way, also by constantly updating their skills.

    Teaching methods

    The teaching activity takes place through lectures. Seminars are scheduled.
    The constant and participatory frequency of the lessons, although not mandatory, is recommended.

    Evaluation methods

    The Course provides a single final evaluation through an oral interview with a score out of thirty. To pass the exam with enough (18/30), the fulfillment of the requirements of the "Training objectives" section is required, having acquired knowledge and understanding.
    The oral exam consists in an interview on the topics planned as program and is aimed at ascertaining the level of knowledge reached by the student.
    Specifically, the final judgment is formulated based on the following evaluation criteria:
    • Failure to pass the exam: the candidate does not reach any educational goal;
    • 18 to 21: sufficient level. The candidate achieves, in particular, the results foreseen in the point "knowledge and understanding";
    • 22 to 24: Level fully sufficient. The candidate achieves, in particular, the learning outcomes envisaged under the points "knowledge and understanding" and "applied understanding and abilities";
    • 25 to 26: Good level. The candidate achieves the learning outcomes foreseen in the points "knowledge and understanding", "applied understanding and abilities" and "autonomy of judgment";
    • From 27 to 29: Very good level. The candidate achieves the learning outcomes foreseen in the points "knowledge and understanding", "applied understanding and abilities", "autonomy of judgment", and "communication skills";
    • 30 to 30 and praise: Excellent level. The candidate fully achieves the learning outcomes foreseen in the points "knowledge and understanding", "applied understanding and abilities", "autonomy of judgment", "communication skills" and "ability to learn".

    Non-attending students are invited to contact the holder of the course for further clarifications about the exam program. During the lectures and seminars the teacher can use slides and other multimedia and / or audiovisual material to support teaching.
